Pier and Piles foundations

In Civil Engineering works and projects, foundations are laid for buildings and structures.

One very important way of making foundations is Pier and Piles foundation. Pier is usually a single column descending upto a piles cap. Below the Piles cap are multiple columns which are called Piles. That way the load from the pier is transferred to multiple piles for greater strength of foundation.
